Health Benefits Laws Compliance Assistance Seminar

If you are an employer who is trying to comply with federal and New Mexico state laws regarding your health plan, this is your chance to talk to both federal and New Mexico state regulators at the same time, in the same place. If you are a third party administrator or a carrier who has questions about new laws and issues, this is your opportunity to ask the experts.

The U.S. Department of Labor is teaming up with the New Mexico Office of the Superintendent of Insurance to bring you practical information, helpful tips, and clarification regarding New Mexico and federal health benefits laws. In addition to the U.S. Dept. of Labor and the New Mexico Office of the Superintendent of Insurance, a representative from the Internal Revenue Service will join us.

The seminar is part of the Labor Department’s Health Benefits Education Campaign to assist small to mid-size employers, third party administrators, and insurers in complying with the Affordable Care Act, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), the fiduciary responsibility provisions in the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other recent health benefits laws.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with only limited spaces available. Interested parties should register early. Visit: http://webapps.dol.gov/DOLEvents/Event/View/314/Health-Benefits-Laws-Compliance-Assistance-Seminar---Santa-Fe-NM to register.
