    The Gift of Feedback

      Presentation Summary

    Feedback is a gift we have to give and receive, so why do we often avoid giving it and reject receiving it? Explore the answers, and learn how to take the fear out of giving feedback and the sting out of receiving it. You will walk away motivated to give and receive your gifts of feedback, and to coach others to do the same.

    Participants will also learn #MeToo and Bystander Prevention: Tips on how to give feedback as a witness to, or a victim of, harassment.



      Linda Strauss

    Linda Strauss is a Human Resources professional with over 20 years of experience. As a consultant, Linda provides employers with training, and strategic HR programs to manage employment issues with comfort, confidence and compliance. She also provides individual services such as leadership development, coaching, and career advisement. In addition, Linda delivers soft skills training, including interpersonal and communications skills, and emotional intelligence training, designed to enhance success and engagement in work and life.  

    Linda holds the SHRM-SCP and SPHR certifications, and is a Certified Mediator of Workplace Conflict. In addition, she is a certified trainer of Becoming the Totally Responsible Person (TRP), and is certified in Mental Health First Aid. She is an instructor for UNM’s Anderson School of Management where she teaches management and HR classes to working professionals.

    Linda provided the harassment prevention training in January for the legislative lobbyists on behalf of the Secretary of State.

    Over her corporate career, Linda has specialized in every aspect of HR. As a volunteer leader, Ms. Strauss is currently the Director of Awards and Recognition for SHRM NM, and previously served as the Director of Workforce Readiness. She has served as VP of Professional Development, Programs, and Membership, and President of this chapter.

    NNMHRA offers a hardship scholarship for members who need financial assistance to attend our monthly lunch/dinner meeting. Members are welcome to confidentially request a free registration to an upcoming monthly dinner meeting. Please email us @ if you would like to make a request.

    If you have made a reservation in time and cancel after this time, you will be charged for the event. No shows will also be charged.
